Resources for New Brunswick Seniors

There are several resources available to New Brunswick Seniors and their families online.

1. For those who might require Long-Term Care Services - a standard assessment form will need to be completed and submitted . Care available includes in home services as well as placement in a special care home. For information on this program you can visit www2.gnb.ca. As well, New Brunswick has developed a Long-Term Care Strategy, the contents of which are also available online at www2.gnb.ca. 

2. There are several Special Care Homes in New Brunswick - a list of these homes is availabe on the website for Social Develpment for New Brunswick.

3. There are Day Programs for Seniors who live at home to assist with social stimulation and provide some caregiver relief if necessary. A small fee usually applies.

4. For Caregivers, there is a helpful guide available on www2.gnb.ca with practical information and helpful tips for those providing care for a senior in their lives. The document easily downloads in a pdf format or a copy can be ordered online.

5. There is a toll-free number seniors and families of seniors can call to find out information on available government services for seniors 1-855-550-0552.
