Known as the “prettiest town in Canada” Goderich, Ontario is a small town with a population of approximately 7,600 people. Boasting many heritage sites, parks, 3 beaches, museums, galleries, a well-known Farmer’s Market, a lovely shopping district with both antiques and different types of specialty shops, Goderich is vibrant and serene. Festivals and events abound throughout the year for those who have all sorts of interests. Of note is the fact that Goderich participates annually in the Communities in Bloom Competition and has won many awards.
It’s not surprising that tourism is a significant industry in this small community. Another major industry in the area is salt mining with Sifto producing over 9 million tons of salt a year. The salt is mined in Goderich and is the largest underground salt mine in the world.
